About Drone Association

The Drone Association is a non-profit, from fundamental research to industry-focussed body, led by key members of ATM and ICT industries.

The Drone Association provides framework for academia and industry, thought leaders and technology experts, regulatory and advisory bodies to connect, collaborate and promote development of drone ecosystem that is simple to use, affordable, commercially and operationally friendly, yet capable of addressing all societal concerns such as safety, security, privacy and environmental protection .

The Drone Association is an “outward-facing” organisation, effectively interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, formal and informal.  The Association at all levels demonstrates the corresponding qualities of commitment, flexibility, innovation, and team-working. 

The Drone Association facilitates the coordination drone ecosystem views from and in support of its stakeholders in the framework of Single European Sky and acts as the interface with the EU institutions and related stakeholders accelerating further improve safety and efficiency, acceptance and adoption of drones. It works in an integrated way within the Association and has close links to their expert counterparts in other EU or multinational structures.

Our members take advantage of numerous opportunities to get connected and get presented all year long through sharing and taking part in projects, knowledge sharing between academia, companies and public organizations,  hosting conference and discussions,  establishing partnerships across industries, sharing industry updates and latest trends.

Membership is open to any company, public entities and educational institutions

The Drone Association facilitates activities to address the implications of EU regulatory framework and policies for the drone service sector: research and innovation, funding instruments and influencing governmental and industrial stakeholders.

What we do

·     Provide the platform through structured meetings with manufacturers, service providers, public institutions and regulators the opportunity to influence and contribute to on-going development of the drone related  environment.

·     Promote the sharing of knowledge, ideas, expertise and understanding of drones and their likely business, economic, social and other implications by meetings, conferences, social network and other means.

·     Support the small ventures in drone related industry.

·     Encourage exchange of information, collaboration and cooperation during research and development designed to benefit drone industry and society by advancing the capabilities of drone systems.

·     Management of Drone Test Airfields.

·     Provide a one-stop access for all stakeholders having an interest to learn more about drone technologies or to find the right partner, supplier or discussion counterpart.

·     Advocate for the drone related industry and users.
